PRESTON
is the administrative capital of Lancashire, set against a backdrop
of countryside rich in heritage. The city has also become the
retail, commercial and cultural centre for Lancashire and exhibits
a buoyant and vibrant city centre.Every year Preston Guild Hall
hosts indoor bowls and snooker championships and the county's
first museum dedicated to football has opened in the now-famous
Tom Finney Stand at Preston North End.Perhaps best known for
Preston Guild, a celebration held every 20 years, the last one
being in 1992, the city is also home to the University of Central
Lancashire which boasts 17,000 students. And Preston has an
impressive redeveloped docklands area which is a popular shopping
site and marina which hosts an annual maritime festival.
